Bio: As an Emotional Literacy Specialist, I have spent many years supporting children and young people to develop emotional awareness, social communication skills, resilience, and positive relationships. Throughout my work, I have witnessed first-hand the power of learning through play. Some of the most meaningful conversations, problem-solving opportunities, and social breakthroughs happen when children feel relaxed, engaged, and motivated by an activity they enjoy. Through structured brick-based sessions using LEGO® bricks, children are encouraged to collaborate, communicate, negotiate, listen, share ideas, manage frustrations, and celebrate success together. These sessions provide a natural and enjoyable way to develop important social and emotional skills while building confidence and self-esteem. My approach is child-centred, strengths-based, and focused on creating a safe, supportive environment where every child can experience success. Whether a child is developing social communication skills, emotional regulation, teamwork, or confidence, brick-based play offers meaningful opportunities for growth through creativity, connection, and fun. Over the years, I have seen how powerful these sessions can be in helping children build not only models, but also friendships, resilience, and a greater understanding of themselves and others.
